São Paulo makes mapping official

Mapas Culturais tool will include, in 2014, data provided by cultural agents and organizations registered in the Municipal Living Culture Program – a partnership between São Paulo City Government and the Federal Government, which will invest R$ 15.3 million in cultural projects by the end of the year. The program statute was launched on December 16th. To apply for funding, interested cultural agents must register with the City Hall and this data will be included in the tool, created by a partnership between Instituto TIM and the São Paulo Municipal Department of Culture.

The statute of the program will be published in the Official Gazette of the City of São Paulo until January 15th for consultation, and registrations to the program may be made between January 16th and February 14th. According to the text, cultural agents and organizations will be included in the “Cultural Mapping of the City of São Paulo by means of a digital geo-referencing platform and cultural agenda, to be widely advertised and for public access, possibly to be included in the mapping of the National Cultural System”.
