Among the new courses to be published on the TIM Tec platform in the second half of 2014 is Production of Educational Videos for Web, which is designed for teachers and anyone interested in teaching. The course is in production, is divided into seven lessons and teaches important topics for anyone who wants to start teaching using home videos and distribute them on the internet.
“The technical parameters in the course deserve special attention, because they will truly help when starting a video,” says teacher Catiucia Klug Schneider, who is also a professor of Design at the Sul-Rio-Grandense Federal Institute (IFSul). In class, students will learn about the use of equipment, picture framing and script production, and also the theoretical part, which includes Learning Theories.
The course was based on a guide produced by Catiucia for IFSul’s Center for Information Technology Project (NPTec), to be published online. Among other content, the guide gives step by step details on how teachers can improve their educational videos. “The teachers at IFSul are already using the techniques from the guide. The research started during my master’s degree [dedicated to educational videos on YouTube] and has been going since 2011,” she explains.
Catiucia follow the video recording process at TIM Tec and liked the results. “These are current issues, they are excellent. Teenagers want to learn about it,” she said. The Production of Educational Videos for Web course will be on the platform from November.
