On July 21st and 22nd it was held the II Mapas Culturais Developers Meeting. The meeting took place in São Paulo (SP) at the head office of Hacklab, partner of Instituto TIM in the development of Mapas Culturais, and brought together about 30 people – most of them are Information Technology representatives of partner institutions of the project. The purpose of the meeting was to present the system code so that this partners network can manage, improve and develop Mapas Culturais applications.
In addition to the Mapas Culturais development teams working for Instituto TIM, members of the development community and technicians of the Ministry of Culture, the city and state of São Paulo, Ceará, Belo Horizonte (MG), Santo André (SP) and São José dos Campos (SP) attended the event.
The meeting was divided into two trails, which took place simultaneously. The first one was a deep hacking trail, in which an experimental installation of Mapas was created from the beginning to detail all the steps, deepen concepts and discuss the tools used in the software. Participants also approached the platform customization and authentication processes and technicians shared characteristics and doubts about their installations.
The second trail focused on governance. It was discussed the next steps for improving the code and the project and the partners’ communication and self-management procedures so that collaboration can happen. Miguel Castro, Mapas trainer in the partner cities and states, also attended the meeting and highlighted important issues that are raised in the training sessions.
The meeting is part of a series of activities of the project focused on strengthening the network of Mapas Culturais, by creating spaces for theoretical alignment, experience sharing and relationship among the members of the network.
