College students interested in transforming their Final Projects in startups with technological basis may already register in the Academic Working Capital 2019 program. Students must perform a pre-registration via AWC’s website and submit their respective proposals and documents by 04/22.
The registered teams may contain up to four people, above the age of 18 and enrolled in any graduation field. The team leader must be in the last year of the course and his or her Final Project must be related to technology. Students from whichever universities located in the states of Espírito Santo, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, São Paulo and in the Federal District (DF) may participate.
The expectations for the program’s fifth edition are high: they are waiting for the participation of 30 to 40 teams. “There are over 700 course coordinators contacted. We did a very strong work with former students that have already participated in AWC for them to be our ambassadors in their respective universities”, says the professor from the Polytechnic School at the University of São Paulo and AWC academic consultant, Marcos Barretto.
In addition to the increase in registrations, the expectation is that more women integrate and lead teams. “Last year there were over 30% of the projects lead by women, and we had women in more than 50% of the teams. The objective is to achieve a 50%/50% (ratio) in leadership”, affirms Marcos. To encourage the feminine presence in the program, AWC aligned with entities such as Network of Entrepreneurial Women and Meninas Digitais.
The result of the selection process shall be communicated in April 29.
