Instituto TIM works in three ways: 1) by developing its own initiatives, such as the Academic Working Capital program; 2) by creating projects in collaboration with other institutions, such as the Instituto TIM-OBMEP Scholarships; and 3) by supporting actions aligned with its objectives and principles. All initiatives are previously submitted to the Instituto TIM Council for approval and follow the annual activity plan.

All methodologies, softwares, and courses developed by Instituto TIM are free and open and can be implemented by other organizations for free. Schools can freely use the TIM Faz Ciência and O Círculo da Matemática do Brasil methodologies, governments can install the Mapas Culturais free software (for culture management) and ZUP (for urban service management), students from anywhere can take the courses of the TIM Tec platform.

As Mapas Culturais is a free software, its code repository is public and can be accessed on Github (github.com/institutotim/mapasculturais). With these codes, professionals with operating systems and programming languages knowledge can install and customize the tool at no cost.
Does the TIM Tec platform grant a certificate or enrollment declaration
As TIM Tec courses are free, the platform does not issue a certification or an enrollment declaration. TIM Tec offers a digital hour’s certificate for those who finish their courses. It is a 40-hour certificate for each course, counting the total time of video lessons and the student’s effort in studying additional materials and searching for others.
