On September 12th, teachers Bob and Ellen Kaplan, founders of The Math Circle teaching approach, were in Rio de Janeiro to attend the public event “What if children liked Math?”. Some 200 people visited the head office of the National Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics (IMPA) to listen.

The Agentes da Transformação project will be held in another 7 pacified communities of Rio de Janeiro in 2014 and will be a little bit different: the young researchers will not only collect data, but will also be responsible for listing the households to be surveyed.
