On May, TIM has published its ESG Report – Environmental, Social and Governance, reaffirming its commitment to Sustainability and practices that have a positive impact on society. “We want to be an ESG reference in Brazil’s telecommunications industry. Strengthening and consolidating the ESG pillars represent to TIM a positive transformation not only in business but also in society”, states the company’s Director-President, Pietro Labriola, in the report’s opening message. The document was prepared with a focus on the company’s ESG practices and presents 2020 results and the carrier’s goals in the Environmental, Social and Governance spheres.
The strategy and projects developed by Instituto TIM are presented in the Social chapter alongside the company’s social performance with its internal audience, with actions to promote diversity and inclusion, engagement, training and digital inclusion. Created 8 years ago, Instituto TIM has helped around 700 thousand people from 500 Brazilian cities with projects that contribute for the promotion of human development in Brazil, focused on four pillars – Teaching, Application, Labor and Social Inclusion – having innovation as the driver of transformation.
The report also presents the company’s 2021-2023 Strategic Plan which integrates ESG criteria with the business strategy, thus ensuring that the adopted business model is totally sustainable in the future. The objectives and goals are aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). One of these goals is to promote an inclusive environment, with 40% of black people in the workforce and 35% of women in leadership positions by 2023. TIM is also working on its 4G coverage at 100% of Brazilian cities by 2023.
