Inclusive music education: TIM Institute’s Drums opens registrations for new cycle
The “TIM Institute’s Drums” program is back and registration is open! The initiative offers continued and inclusive musical education for children and young people with and without disabilities in the city of Rio de Janeiro and surrounding areas, with a focus on integration between participants, awakening new possibilities and inclusion through music.
“Our mission is to provide all children and young people with the opportunity to express themselves and grow through music. We want each participant to feel that they are capable of reaching their potential”, declares Anna Carolina Meireles, Senior Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility at TIM.
The program offers a variety of activities, from percussion classes to singing classes with a diverse repertoire. In addition, it includes body expression and movement classes, along with psychological support sessions for students and their guardians. The activities begin on October 21st and will be held in person at the Artur da Távola Carioca Music Center, in Tijuca, until August 31st, 2024.
This cycle of the program offers a total of 60 free places, with priority given to participants in the previous edition (2022/2023) and people with disabilities. However, if the vacancies allocated to this profile are not filled, the remaining vacancies will be opened to people without disabilities. The selection of participants also considers the order of registration; therefore, it is important that registration is done as soon as possible.
It is important to highlight that remaining in the project is conditioned on the adaptation and commitment of the participants, with the aim of ensuring an inclusive and enriching experience for everyone involved. This is an opportunity for children and young people to develop their musical skills and engage in a journey of learning and inclusion.
Registration will be open from 6pm on October 5th until 11:59pm on October 14th, 2023, by filling out this form. The recipients will be announced on October 16th at 6pm.
