The Bateria do Instituto TIM celebrated the conclusion of another season with its traditional performance in the garden of the Centro da Música Carioca. Held on the last Saturday of August, the event filled the morning with joy and community spirit, marking the end of the cycle that began in 2023. Over 50 participants, most of them young people with disabilities, took part in the project, which provided free music lessons and public performances.
Led by Mestre Mangueirinha, the final performance kicked off at 11 a.m., drawing a crowd of around 70 attendees who sang and danced along with the group. The setlist featured beloved Brazilian classics like “Coisinha do Pai,” “Maracangalha,” and “Emoriô.”
The program began on October 21, 2023, and consisted of 34 weekly sessions, all centered around inclusion and celebrating diversity through music. Throughout the year, the Bateria also delivered standout performances, including at the TIM Music Rio festival in Copacabana in June and at the Mini Bloco pre-carnival in Praça Xavier de Brito, Tijuca.
The program, led by instructors in musical expression, singing, and music, also offered psychological support, ensuring a well-rounded experience for all participants. With another successful edition wrapped up, the team is already gearing up for the next season, ready to offer even more opportunities for musical growth and development.
