Students approve TIM Tec course

The first course on the TIM Tec online platform, “HTML – Introduction to the Front End”, was approved by students at the Cidade Tiradentes Cultural Formation Center, in São Paulo. The pilot course was run during December. Students were able to watch lessons at home or at the Training Center. Now, the impressions they had of the pilot course will help the project’s team to think of improvements for the platform and plan the following courses. To see what the experience of using the platform was like and the teaching method, the TIM Tec team met with the students and teacher Fábio Flatschart on December 17th. The general impression was that they very much appreciated the fact that it was free, as the subject of the course is a technical field that tends to be expensive in other institutions. They also said they found it easy to learn the content because the course was well structured and the videos were great. The next step is to hold a meeting at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology in Rio Grande do Sul (IFSul) with the second group that took the pilot course. For 2014, the plan is to release all 10 courses and open the platform to the public. TIM Tec expects to have national reach in order to provide all those interested with access to better training for the job market.
