Ubatuba (SP) city launched on September 27th its installation of the Mapas Culturais platform, the Mapa Cultural de Ubatuba. The launching ceremony was held at the technology laboratory of the Municipal Library and was attended by the president of the Art and Culture Foundation of Ubatuba (FundArt), Paulo Wladimir Zanin da Motta, and the municipal secretary of Information Technology and of Finance, Pedro Henrique Ruiz Seno.
The event also marked the end of two days of training for managers and cultural agents to use the system, promoted by Instituto TIM on September 26th and 27th. Before the ceremony, about 30 guests – mostly, cultural agents and members of the FundArt team – had a moment to register on the platform and make questions to the Mapas trainer, Miguel Castro. The installation of Mapa Cultural de Ubatuba happened autonomously, by an initiative of FundArt, and was carried out by the City Hall’s IT team. Instituto TIM supported the installation through technical support and training.
During the event, Paulo Motta, Pedro Seno and the coordination of Mapas Culturais explained how the platform was developed, its purpose of use and the partnership with Instituto TIM. The secretary reinforced the commitment of the municipal administration to the use of free software and to the offer of new information technologies for public management that enable a more participatory and efficient work. The president of FundArt talked about the commitment to use the system for the construction of public policies and kept the FundArt team available for cultural agents to think about strategies of adherence to the platform and on-demand training workshops.
Mapas Culturais is also operating in six states, seven cities and in the Federal District. In the Ministry of Culture, the software is used by National System for Cultural Information and Indicators (SNIIC). Besides Ubatuba, the states of Tocantins and Mato Grosso and the Federal District insalled of the platform autonomously.
