The ARede Educa Award is promoted by the ARede portal and the Bit Social organization, which aims to disseminate and stimulate social inclusion through the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). This is the ninth edition of the award (previously known as the Arede Educa Award), but the first with focus on ICTs in education and with the name ARede Educa Award. The inscriptions were open to initiatives from public and private institutions, from elementary to higher education. Educators, students, researchers, businessmen and managers of educational institutions were able to participate.
TIM Tec is an initiative that began in 2013 with the objective of developing a MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses) platform in order to provide gratuitous and free courses oriented to professional and technological education. Currently, 25 courses on topics such as programming language, database, games design and other topics related to technology, as well as courses focused on teachers and text production are available on the platform. Anyone can access the platform, make the courses for free and, in the end, get an hour’s attestation.
The winning projects of the ARede Educa Award are profiled in reports in the Anuário ARede 2016-2017 (ARede Yearbook 2016-2017). To read the article about TIM Tec, click here.
