The development of Mapas Culturais platform is now in its final stage. The system is part of the Instituto TIM’s project of the same name, and will offer the São Paulo Municipal Department of Culture a tool to map cultural initiatives and agents, manage cultural policies and generate indicators. The idea is for the platform, which is in line with the aims of the National Plan for Culture and the National System for Cultural Information and Indicators (SNIIC) of the Ministry of Culture, to be ready by February.
To feed the system database, a pilot data collection was performed in the neighborhood of Campo Limpo by scholars nominated by the Solano Trindade Agency. The research was performed during December. In total, 400 cultural initiatives and agents were brought together and registered on the platform.
Mapas Culturais project also involves the migration of data on the cultural agenda of events for projects financed by the VAI Program (Cultural Initiatives Incentive Program), of the São Paulo City Government, and with data provided by cultural agents and organizations who registered on the Municipal Living Culture Program, a partnership between municipal authorities and the federal government, in 2014.
