Another meeting with culture developers and public managers to implement the Mapas Culturais project was held, this time in Sobral-CE, on October 23rd and 24th. In the municipality of 200,000 inhabitants, the platform will be called Sobral Cultura and will be implemented in partnership with the Municipal Department of Culture and Tourism, with the support of the Department of Technology and Economic Development, the Department of Urban Development and Youth Coordination. The meeting was also attended by the mayor of Sobral, José Clodoveu de Arruda Coelho Neto (Veveu), and the secretary of Culture and Tourism, Eliane Ribeiro, among other authorities.
The Mapas Culturais staff presented SP Cultura – the Mapas Culturais platform already in use in the city of São Paulo. The test version of the platform that will be implemented in Sobral was also shown. It still has to be customized, but already had two units mapped for the demonstration. During the two-day event, Sobral managers were trained to use Mapas Culturais and asked questions about the daily use of the platform. Two technicians from the technology area of the Ceará State Department of Culture, which will also implement Mapas Culturais, also attended the training.
Eliane Ribeiro said that Mapas Culturais will assist in the management of culture in the municipality, which is a benchmark in education and where most of the population is young – 40% of residents are aged up to 29. Mayor Veveu Arruda asked some questions about the operation and application of the platform.
The next phase is for internal meetings to decide who will be responsible for each step of the project in the municipality – which will include the registration of cultural facilities and the cultural agenda of the city on the platform and the mobilization of local cultural agents.
