Four Mapas Culturais platforms have already been launched and in operation. Besides SP Cultura, in São Paulo-SP, the following platforms are in operation: Sobral Cultura, in Sobral-CE, Mapa da Cultura, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, and Lugares da Cultura, in São José dos Campos-SP. The SP Cultura, Sobral Cultura and Mapa da Cultura platforms have already been launched during public events and are being used by the population as well as by the public administration. As for Lugares da Cultura, it will be officially launched soon.
The project is well underway in João Pessoa-PB and in Blumenau-SC. In João Pessoa and Blumenau – where the platform will be named JP Cultura and Blumenau Mais Cultura, respectively – the tool will be placed in a temporary location while data input is taking place. In Blumenau, the platform has already been officially launched at an event with the participation of mayor Napoleão Bernardes and Manoel Horacio, president of Instituto TIM.
Mapas Culturais is a free solution that assists the public administration and that can be adopted free of charge by any state or municipality. The platform allows data from cultural agents and culture-related activities/locations to be stored in a single location. Information is inserted in two ways: by public agents themselves and also by cultural agents, as a collaborative initiative. With this tool, it is possible to create a broad cultural schedule and access full registration lists for cultural producers and venues in a certain area, as well as information to contact cultural producers. Mapas Culturais contributes to the definition of public policies in the cultural segment, at the same time mapping, gathering and providing people with information on cultural agents and events in a simplified way.
