Last Saturday, February 23, Bateria do Instituto TIM entertained the small revelers of Mini Bloco, a children’s pre-Carnival block of the Tijuca neighborhood, in Rio de Janeiro-RJ. The presentation took place at Praça Xavier de Brito and gathered hundreds of children and their families. It is already the fourth time that Bateria is invited to play with Mini Bloco: they also played in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
Children’s songs were included in the repertoire such as “O cravo brigou com a rosa”, “Samba Lelê”, “Ciranda, cirandinha”, “Pai Francisco” and “Alecrim”; samba classics such as “Tristeza”, a famous song in the voice of Beth Carvalho, and “Maracangalha”, by Dorival Caymmi; and marchinhas like “Mamãe eu quero”, “Me dá um dinheiro aí”, “Alalaô” and “Sassaricando”, besides the classic “Cidade Maravilhosa”.
Rehearsals of the Bateria do Instituto TIM are held on Saturdays, from 10am to 12pm, at the Artur da Távola Municipal Reference Centre for Rio de Janeiro Music, in the Tijuca neighborhood, in Rio de Janeiro. Anyone can participate in the project, whether disabled or not.
