In partnership with São Paulo Municipal Department of Culture, Instituto TIM is financing the production of a digital platform for mapping cultural incentives, and the management and generation of cultural indicators. The platform is in line with the goals of the National Culture Plan and the National System for Cultural Information and Indicators (SNIIC), under the Ministry of Culture. The preliminary tests will be performed in Campo Limpo, in the southern region of São Paulo-SP, where the information will be collected by cultural agents to feed the platform data base. 20 scholars will be responsable for data collection. They are participating of 21 meetings in which they are being trained on concepts and strategies related to mapping, cultural policy and production, databases and other aspects. In addition to aiding public administrators in the formulation of their cultural policies, Mapas Culturais project will generate information which will help the civil society to organize its demands with City Governments. Furthermore, it will enable the creation of a tool capable of supporting the dissemination of local cultural manifestations and activities.
